Luz Latina Film Festival

Luz Latina is a concept for a London-based film festival that celebrates the rich cultural diversity and storytelling power of Latin America. Rooted in authenticity, joy, and inclusivity, the project reimagines how Latin American cinema is experienced abroad—challenging stereotypes while creating space for both cultural reconnection and discovery.

Experience

More Than a Film Festival
Built around the idea that film can be both celebration and connection, the project responds to the underrepresentation and misrepresentation of Latin American culture in the UK. The Luz Latina Film Festival experience unfolds in three stages—Learn, Experience, Watch—inviting audiences to explore Latin American history, immerse themselves in vibrant sounds and flavors, and finally, watch powerful films from across the region. With a joyful, authentic, and inclusive spirit, the festival aims to feel as much like a block party as it does a film screening.

Identity

Designing for a Region,
Not a Stereotype
Rather than rely on clichéd motifs or draw from one dominant culture, the branding aims to reflect the richness and diversity of Latin America as a whole. With vibrant colors and clean, contemporary typography, the visual language evokes the region’s energy without leaning on stereotypes. The result is a joyful yet modern identity that feels distinctly Latin American, and confident enough to stand alongside other major film festivals.
